Well, if you've read anything on my blog before, or anything from just about anywhere about safe sunscreen, you've probably heard of (or purchased, perhaps here) TruKid Sunscreen. It's mineral, rather than chemical based, so those of us who do go out of our way to use natural products, to buy organic produce, etc., don't feel like we have to keep our "outdoor kids" in, or marinate them in chemicals the whole time they're playing soccer, riding bigwheels, etc. It's great, it works, it smells faintly of orange, and is overall just my favorite summer must have.
Of course, now, just as school is out, the pool is open, and summer is pretty much in full swing, they have been out of stock...today I found out that not only are they out of stock through July, as expected, but that the manufacturer of the sunscreen has just filed bankruptcy, so there is none forthcoming now. Aaaaarrrgh!! The only thing worse than how frustrating this is for me as a mother (not to mention the mother of a very pale redheaded boy!),
is how frustrating it is for me to have to tell all of my customers that are waiting patiently, anxiously, for the new shipment to come in. I can't imagine how terrible things are for TruKid, to get blindsided by this right at the start of summer!
In other, better news, Little Twig, another fantastic line of children's bath and toiletry items, has come out with a very similar product- so rest assured, if you don't want to douse your child with chemicals, and he or she has skin like mine...The Little Twig sunscreen is on it's way! It should be instock in the store, and on the website by next week! Whew! What a relief!
